Dr. Tom Walters, DPT, OCS, CSCS
Tom is a board-certified orthopedic physical therapist (OCS) and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) who serves as an assistant professor of kinesiology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA as well as running his own orthopedic physical therapy practice.
Tom completed his Bachelor of Science at Montana State University in Health and Human Performance, his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Chapman University and is currently completing his Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) in Rehabilitation Science at Texas Tech University where his dissertation will explore the effects of clinician language on pain, anxiety and movement self-efficacy in individuals with low back pain.
Tom has experience in a number of rehabilitation settings including outpatient orthopedics, long-term care and sports medicine as physical therapist in Cirque du Soleil’s Performance Medicine department.
Tom is married to his wife and fellow physical therapist, Kirsten (’03), and they have two daughters, Reese and Taylor. In his spare time, Tom enjoys training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, lifting weights and being outdoors.
